Don't Hold the Pain — Let Our Chiropractor Help You

Spinal dysfunction can begin with something as ordinary as falling asleep on the couch, lifting a child, or an awkward twist doing laundry — or something as serious as a car accident. When a joint along the spine is out of place, it can interfere with the nerves branching off the spinal cord, causing pain not just locally but anywhere along that nerve’s path. Dr. Garreth MacDonald’s chiropractic adjustments focus on normalizing joint mechanics so your spine and nervous system can function without interference.

Techniques We Use

Activator Modified

— a low-force, instrument-assisted technique.

Gonstead

— a detailed, joint-specific adjusting method.

Diversified

— the most widely taught general adjusting technique.

Thompson Drop & Modified

— uses a specialized drop-piece table for a gentler adjustment.

Flexion/Distraction

— a gentle, non-thrusting technique often used for disc-related pain.

Bilateral Nasal Specific Technique

— a specialized cranial technique.

Your First Visit

Your first visit includes a full physical exam of the back, extremities, tendons, ligaments, and joints, along with diagnostic imaging performed in-house on our digital X-ray when needed — no waiting on films sent out to a third-party lab. Depending on your condition, we may also apply ice, heat, or electrical stimulation before your adjustment. From there, we build a personalized treatment plan — often paired with massage therapy or acupuncture for a fully coordinated recovery.

If pain lingers despite treatment or a standard X-ray, CT, or MRI hasn’t found a clear answer, we may also recommend our in-house Digital Motion X-ray (DMX) — a real-time video X-ray that can reveal ligament injuries a still image misses.

Massage as Part of Your Recovery Plan

For many auto injury patients, massage therapy paired with chiropractic adjustments relieves accident-related muscle guarding and speeds recovery from whiplash and soft-tissue strain. Regular massage also supports anxiety reduction, joint mobility, faster injury recovery, better sleep, immune function, and headache and stress relief. Our therapists coordinate directly with your chiropractor so every session supports your overall treatment plan.

A Team Approach to Pain Relief

Chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupuncture work well together: adjustments relieve pressure on injured muscles and nerves, massage reduces the muscle tension that keeps pulling joints out of place, and research — including a widely cited British Medical Journal study — has pointed to acupuncture as an effective complementary treatment for chronic neck pain. We combine these disciplines under one roof so your care stays coordinated.

Who Chiropractic Care Helps

Chiropractic care benefits anyone dealing with pain from skeletal and muscular misalignment — joint mobility issues, organ function complaints, prenatal discomfort, repetitive stress injuries, postural strain, and — most commonly for our Springfield and Eugene patients — car accident injuries like whiplash. When a case falls outside chiropractic scope, we refer to trusted neurology, orthopedic, MRI/CT imaging, general medical, psychological, or chronic pain specialists.
