Been in a Car Accident? Get Checked — Even If You Feel Fine

Many whiplash and soft-tissue injuries don’t show symptoms for days, or even weeks, after a crash. At Cascade Health Center in Springfield, we are Eugene’s Auto Injury Experts™, specializing in detecting and treating car accident injuries before they become chronic problems. If you’ve been in a collision anywhere in Lane County — Springfield, Eugene, Veneta, Junction City, Cottage Grove, or beyond — the sooner you’re evaluated, the better your long-term outcome.

How We Treat Auto Injuries

Whiplash injures the ligaments and muscles of the neck’s facet and disc joints — the same structures that give your spine its strength, stability, and range of motion. Our car accident chiropractor evaluates the state of your neck and spine, checks for whiplash and related soft-tissue injury, and builds a treatment plan combining chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, and — when appropriate — acupuncture or physical rehabilitation. Adjustments relieve pressure on injured muscles and nerves and realign the spine, without relying on painkillers or surgery. We may also prescribe at-home exercises to accelerate your recovery.

Early Diagnosis Prevents Long-Term Chronic Injury

Waiting for pain to appear can make an injury worse. We regularly see patients across Springfield and Eugene who come in for unrelated neck pain and discover it traces back to a car accident from months or years earlier. On your first visit, our doctor performs a full physical exam and, if warranted, orders diagnostic imaging using our in-house digital X-ray — all coordinated on-site as a multidisciplinary center.

We Help You Navigate the Insurance Claims Process

Dealing with an auto insurance claim on top of an injury is overwhelming. Our front office works with your claims adjuster, documents your treatment for your case, and accepts all major auto insurance carriers — so you can focus on healing instead of paperwork. When a claim needs objective proof of injury, our in-house Digital Motion X-ray (DMX) can provide real-time video documentation of ligament damage that a standard X-ray, CT, or MRI may miss — valuable evidence for your case.

Chiropractic Adjustments After a Car Accidents

One of the best treatments you can receive after a car accident is chiropractic adjustments. A car accident chiropractor revises the state of your neck and checks for whiplash injury.

While doctors prescribe painkillers to relieve your pain, you can benefit from chiropractic adjustments to help heal mild and severe injuries without the use of drugs. A car accident chiropractor performs adjustments to relieve the pressure on the muscles and nerves, and also aligns back the spine. Additionally, we may send you some exercises to practice at home so that you can recover faster.

Understanding Whiplash

Whiplash trauma primarily injures the joints of the neck. Each of your spine’s 24 vertebrae — 7 of them in the neck alone — has three joints arranged in a triangle: a disc joint in front that bears the body’s weight, and two facet joints in back that control direction of movement. When a collision forces these joints to move beyond their normal range, the ligaments (sprain) and muscles (strain) that hold them together are injured. Clinical research dating back decades has established that the lower neck’s facet joint ligaments are the most common source of chronic whiplash pain, while upper-neck facet ligaments are the most common source of whiplash-related headache. Left untreated, this damage can cause ongoing, unresolved pain.
